DIY Tan Two Piece

Salam lovelies, wow can you believe two weeks of Ramadan has already gone by. I must say Ramadan has been a major blessing during these trying times. I am enjoying connecting to Allah on a deeper level than ever before.

Ok  lets get into this D.I.Y. I took my time with this one and I am glad I did.  I made this two piece set using Mimi G simplicity pattern. I am in love with the waist coat, but listen these pants are the business. I was bold enough not to make a muslin (test piece) for them. The fit was perfect right out the envelope. I love the wide high waisted waistband and the delicate pleats at the front. I think this is so flattering on my curves. The pants came together quickly. However, for the jacket I wanted a more professional finish. So I used a Hong Kong and french seams on the inside. The fabric is a beautiful tan mid weight linen from MOOD. I purposely went with this color choice as I wanted a neutral base that I can mix and match with other pieces.

Here I have paired it with a simple white blouse from mango and espadrilles from Nordstroms. These pieces are really going to serve my wardrobe well, insha’Allah. The style options are endless.
