Flounces & Ruffles

Abayas has to be one of my favorite wardrobe pieces, you can literally pair them with anything. I made this abaya back in July and absolutely love it. I mean come on look at those sleeves. I wanted ruffles with drama lol. I would say it was a simple make. However, I like to take my time when making my garments and use professional techniques for finishes like the hem and seams. For this particular make I love the crisp look of hong kong (a method of binding seams with bias tape) finish and for the hem I felt that a role hem would work best.

The fabric was this gorgeous pale blush crepe from MOOD FABRIC. I styled it with a black jumpsuit from Marks & Spenser,  white heels and my Micheal Kors bag. I hope you enjoy the picture below as much as I enjoyed taking them. Do you like abayas? Please let me how you would style yours.
